  • Is God Real? pt 3/3 - Universal Modules (Video)

An entire universe, modules that have to function together perfectly from one place to the next. What will we find when we zoom in and out? It's the final installment in the Is God Real? series. It just might be the most important one. Did you see part 1 and part 2? Because I didn't frame the shot well, it may not play right on some screens. If you can't see at least as high as my forehead, you can use the second version. The only difference between videos is that the second is zoomed out. Note: I almost re-recorded this as I really wanted to set the shot and the audio up better. I had only a small window to film (napping toddler). While I'm not thrilled about the technical aspects of the video, I decided to sacrifice a better shot for a good delivery, especially since it was not scripted or rehearsed. • Unlocking Everything (Article)

All life relates to all life. Make sense? Good, article done. See ya next time. Are you kidding? Well yes. I’m not getting away that easy and the stuff I typed below this, it actually has a purpose. Explain please Okay. Basically, you can boil it all down; every fundamental rule to every profession, every hobby, every task… every situation, every community, every machine… everything. Each basic rule of how anything works can and often does apply to how anything else works. In all seriousness, that probably doesn’t make sense yet. But if you stick with me on this, I believe you’ll end up with one of the most important keys to life. Examples Music Sorry. This image was taken by the writer, but is not available in the writer's public portfolio. Learning one instrument makes learning others easier. Why? Because music is full of basic concepts that apply to all parts of its creation. Take scales (please, because they feel tedious and I don’t like them.). Practicing a scale means you’re practicing stepping up and down through sets of notes that sound right togetherrepeeeeeetedly!). Once you learn scales on one instrument, you may have to build muscle memory to play another, but you’ll already understand how the scales should sound on that new instrunment. Vocals are another good example. If you like to sing, whether you’re good or not, you’ve at least learned to step across a spectrum of notes and words to be sung. Once you get that concept, you don’t have to relearn it over and over every time you want to sing a new song. You only have to learn the words and the melody. Physics. I do not use stock photos. See the image above in my personal portfolio. Everything is physical in some way, even those things that seem more abstract. Even thoughts, spirits, and things like light are physical. Everything from people to human-made machines; it’s all governed by sets of rules that apply from one thing to the next. Every movement of everything fights some sort of resistance, be it gravity, friction, air pressure, or something else. Every moving thing has to overcome as much wear and tear as possible, hence things like oils and bearings. Chemistry. I do not use stock photos. See the image above in my personal portfolio. I feel like, when most of us think of chemistry, we think of long white coats, pocket protectors, glasses with white tape in the center and a lab full of jars, readouts and people making jokes about atoms. (No offense to science nerds. I am one. And BTW, I have a good Atom Joke… "Never trust an Atom. They make up everything." (Thanks R.K. Now pick yourself up off the floor, wipe the tears of laughter from your eyes and keep on reading.) Anyway, Chemistry doesn’t just belong in a lab. It’s everywhere. Everything is based on it. And the chemicals and their behaviors that are found in any one thing, are always found in many other things. Math. I do not use stock photos. See the image above in my personal portfolio. I have to admit I’m terrible at it. I do know that 2x5=11 (another sad joke), but when it comes to advanced math I’m as lost as they come. To me a square root is a piece of a tree that’s been shaped on a table saw. I do know something really important about it though. It relates and applies to absolutely everything, from music, to physics, to chemistry, to well… everything. Psychology. Sorry. This image was taken by the writer, but is not available in the writer's public portfolio. Here's a good example; all life tends to look for the easiest path. Electrons prefer to travel through their most inviting and efficient elements, like gold. Water looks for streams and rivers to join, before it travels on flat, dry land. And people most often choose the quickest ways to get tasks done and the easiest rewards for behavior. How examples come together Resistance is a great one. It happens in machines, chemistry and social situations. Take my content for example; videos, articles, social media posts, etc. I’ve had some nice comments and some negative comments on that media. I don’t take the negative replies as a chance to fire back and prove I’m right. Instead, I see them as a chance to minister and demonstrate the forgiveness and openness of Christianity. I can sense the need to ease the resistance and the wear and tear, between my content and people who react to it with anger, just as I sense the need to ease such a grind between two parts of a robot I’ve built. Showing that I understand where the commenter is coming from is like putting some grease in my robot’s joints. Both of those actions ease abrasion and invite calm and efficient movement. It actually helps me to think of one, as I plan for the other. How beneficial is this information? Hugely! (and I don’t often use exclamation points) As far of a stretch as this stuff may sound, I believe there’s a very technical and psychological use for it. If you find a guy who’s mad ‘cause you stepped on his shoe, or a woman who’s afraid of you because of your personal style, you probably don’t want to squirt grease on them; probably. But opening a mind to the common traits between everything and everything; it can open new doors in the way we think about things like conflict resolution, the building of communities and a lot more. When we find corresponding properties between items and situations, we will unlock doors that help us work with all of them. And here’s the bonus; if you intricately understand one thing, you’ll probably already have a great understanding of anything else. It’s a very abstract idea, but the proof is already there. What is your proof? When a person can rebuild a car engine, they can usually fix a broken house fan without training. Someone who has an education and/or experience working compassionately with children, can often work the same way with adults, without being taught how. Martial arts holds a few more examples. In them, there is a common saying, basically “I learn how to fight so I know how not to fight.” A martial artist who knows how to physically diffuse a confrontation, can most often diffuse it first through words, without ever throwing a punch. The self discipline it takes to train the body will usually also train the mind. Both can move fluidly through a dangerous moment. To be a jack of all trades means we can flow from one situation in life to the next with fewer hardships. The mechanisms that ease one situation can be adapted to ease another. One of the wisest things I’d ever heard Bruce Lee say was this: he basically explained that a great key to getting through life is to be adaptable and open to change. He said “Be like water. If you pour water into a bowl, it takes the shape of the bowl. If you pour it into a cup, it takes the shape of the cup.” Understanding the relationships and commonalities between one thing in life and the next, it can aid in being adaptable. I do not use stock photos. See the image above in my personal portfolio. God tells us the same thing, that adaptability is important. "I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:12-13 KJV How to use it You don’t have to think much about it. You just have to absorb information and let it make you smarter. For many people, these days it will often mean putting down the things that numb our minds and picking up those that enhance them. In other words, technology is great, but so are books, collaborations and classrooms. And even better, if you can be aware of how everything relates to everything else, you can start to do what all Christians should be doing. You can teach by speaking many different languages. I don’t mean things like English, Hebrew and Russian. I mean being able to compare examples of how things work, from the lives of people with different interests and professions. So for example; I might tell someone it’s wise to get therapy for damage caused by a hardship. That person might be afraid of the general stigmas that come along with that, like “If I do, I’m a sissy”. But if that person works on cars, I might be able to tell them that therapy is simply the repair work of the mind. I can say you only take apart whatever mechanism is broken, examine it, fix the problems, then put it back together the way you’d do with a leaky fuel system or a bad starter motor. I think crossing information from how one thing works to the next, it already happens on a subconscious level. But being aware of it can give you advantages. I’ll give you a great example in my life; reading the bible. One thing it’s given me is discernment; more ability to tell a being who’s connected to God, from a fake who’s only using the gospel for their own purposes. I can identify false people, Gods and idols now at the drop of a hat. Sometimes it takes work to learn, but often times it’s fun. Simply reading, learning how a computer works or getting into the rules of a sport; these things can all provide insight into how everything else works. So don’t just dig in, pay attention. Eventually the deep similarities between everything and everything may just blow your mind! And when you start to realize that your knowledge in one area can help you in another, it builds confidence and versatility. • Pray for the Enemy (Article)

“Pray for who’s-it… wha-whaaaat?” I shot the photo above and you can see it in my personal, photography portfolio. No, that’s not the latest viral dance sequence or the hottest new pop song. It’s most likely the kind of reaction people will have when I tell them them to pray for their opponent. Yet I’ve been hearing it for quite a while from pastors, media and even the Bible. The more I experiment with it, the more I understand it, the more I want to publicly address it. First off, let’s loosely define the word “Enemy” How to use the word “enemy”, it’s been a struggle for me for the past few years. In my partially broken mind, I often want to call out “enemy” toward anyone who’s ever hurt myself or my own. But in my heart and soul I feel like reserving the term for those who have no function; except to promote evil. I’m talking about things like demons and their master, not people. "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12 KJV And, dare I say “brother” or “sister” when referring to an opponent. I’ll get into that in a bit. Where do we get the message “Pray for your enemy”? God speaks this message in many places such as media, church, streaming from the mouths of pastors and the Bible, which also carries the message in more than one place; for example; "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" Matthew 5:44 KJV How easy (or hard) is it? (Writer struggling to find words)... It's... [nope, can't say that in family oriented content]... Hmmm... Okay; it's downright, absolutely, insanely, ridiculously hard (for lack of better words, and continued use of parentheses). I shot this image myself in West Seattle. See it here in my personal portfolio. It's completely anti-intuitive. It goes against not only basic instinct; but long-time, deeply engrained modes of dealing with social conflict. We get worn into these grooves of hating each other. Forgiveness seems to have become one of the hardest things on the planet. Technology doesn't help either. We can send off an angry message, pull a quick trigger or push a simple button marked "destroy"; all much quicker than we can think about the benefits of approaching with a cool head and a warm heart. When I say I know it's hard, that's an understatement. And believe me; not only have I tested others, I've been tested myself. I'm not talking about some guy bumping my shoulder walking down the street. I'm talking about much, much worse (of which I'm not ready to go into). Just believe me; for some of what my family and I have gone through, most would not act within the boundaries of compassion. Why would someone forgive an opponent? I don't know which it starts with; the benefits to those who forgive, the benefits to those who need to be forgiven, or the benefits that go out to everyone. In any case, I've seen things done in two ways: 1. Run the race. This is the competition where whoever hurts the other one the most wins. A belief is held that when a person does something wrong, they need to be punished as harshly as possible. The finish line is never found because under that philosophy, it works in an insane way. Person A commits an offense. Person B commits an offense in the name of punishing Person A. Person C must now commit an offense in order to punish Person B. Oh boy; now Person C has to be punished, so let's call Person D up for the job. It never ends. In other words; adding drops of anger, violence or persecution to the bucket does not make the bucket lose substance. Those drops make the bucket continue to overflow, no matter how and why the participant thinks the bad behavior is justified. And make no mistake; EVERYONE who harms someone else thinks they have a good reason for their actions. 2. Forgiveness. So why? Why forgive? Why not justify bad behavior with more bad behavior, especially when it's so easy to find information on how to harm someone else? I'll give you a few reasons: 1. God thinks you're out of bounds. It was he who created a balanced system that involves compassion, wisdom, forgiveness and the sharing of information that can inform people about bad behavior and stop it. In fact, all of that system and more hinge on education. If God didn't believe that, there would be no mention of forgiveness anywhere within the teachings given by Himself or those who work for him. There would be no need for it. Just throw people with bad behavior in the trash, then start a search party for the few who are left. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14 KJV 2. I believe God hurts to some extent. For any parent who watches their children destroy each other there is pain, likely on the scale of "tremendous". Imagine being a parent and watching your children damage each other on purpose. Imagine how amplified that pain would feel if your children numbered in the billions. 3. That race mentioned above; it's not just annoying, painful and demanding of great loss to us all... it's deadly. The only way to stop it is to stop it; not just for the criminals, but also for the crusaders. It's simple; anger breeds anger, hate breeds hate, violence breeds violence. Those things are open doors to evil because you can't become a conduit for them without becoming saturated by them. Forgiveness toward those who've wronged us is THE alternative. "But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another." Galatians 5:15 KJV I do not use stock photos. See the image above in my portfolio. 4. The opponent is usually a brother or sister; and yes, call it what you will; bad information, possession, demon, etc. In any case, that opponent is like the rest of us. We're not built to destroy each other. We're built to work together. That's the way God intended it. That's the way it works when it works. To harm someone takes a wrong turn, a misguided ride where a person is given bad information; information that says it's okay to work against what God intends for us. So when I pray for my enemy/opponent, I pray for the purpose of freeing my family member from the chains of false information. So how? Pretty simple. Just ask God to help the person, to see what they're doing wrong and be given open doors to better ways of social interaction. I know, that responses of compassion, empathy and forgiveness are some of the very few ways to rescue people from darkness. Prayer is another. I've also tried the path of revenge and it never works... never. In the end when I leave this body, I just want to meet up with as many of my universal family members as I can. And I owe God the patience toward others as they cause damage, as he once gave me before I broke free from darkness.
